Fatal 18-Wheeler Accident in McKinney, Texas

A woman waiting at a red traffic signal was killed when an 18-wheeler slammed into the rear of her Honda Accord. The driver of the semi said he did not see the red light. Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Since the truck driver admitted that he did not see the red light, it appears if the accident was not the result of a part defect or failure. The investigation will include checking phone records to see if the truck driver was on talking on the phone or texting while driving. Investigators will also review his log books to determine if he was trying to meet an unrealistic schedule thereby speeding or driving while fatigued, despite the safety risks.

Even though current rules limit the number of hours a truck driver can be behind the wheel, there are many drivers who falsify there log books to skirt the regulations. Therefore, it is important to thoroughly review the driver's log as soon as possible after an accident. There are also many other factors to consider such as whether the driver was adequately trained. As you can see, these types of accidents can not be resolved overnight.

Woman May Be Alive Today if Chicago High-Rise Safety Ordinance was not Extended

A woman returning to her 12th floor Chicago apartment was killed when she took the elevator to her floor unaware that a fire was raging in the hallway. The fire began in another apartment on the 12th floor. Fire officials said that the couple occupying the unit escaped with their dog, they failed to close the door behind them contributing to the spread of the blaze.

As the elevator doors opened on the 12th floor, the woman was overcome by the blaze which officials say exceeded 1,500 degree temperatures. She was taken to the hospital, but was later pronounced dead. Nine others, including two firefighters, suffered non-threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Chicago Fire Department Chief Joe Roccasalva said if the door to the couple's apartment had been closed, the woman likely would have survived.

The mother of the victim has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the owners and managers of the building. Her attorney said as soon as they learn the names of the couple, they will be named as defendants as well. The suit contends that the owners and managers of the high-rise were negligent and failed to instruct residents to evacuate the building during the blaze. The plaintiff said her daughter would still be alive if the building had elevators that shut down during such a fire.

The building did not have a sprinkler system because older residential buildings in Chicago are not required to install one. Additionally, it was found that an elevator malfunction thwarted fire fighters' ability to contain the fire initially. But, the most disturbing finding was that an ordinance passed in 2004 requiring owners of residential high-rise buildings to make "life safety" improvements by January 1, 2012, was extended to 2015 due to complaints about costs associated with implementing the improvements. Without the extension, this woman may be alive today. Money matters over safety once again.

The owner of a building is responsible for properly maintaining an elevator and if someone is injured as a result of negligence, the owner can be legally responsible for injuries. When a person is the victim of an accident directly related to the failure or malfunction of an elevator, they have the legal right to seek compensation for damages.

If you have lost a loved one due to unsafe premises or a defective product or equipment, you have the right to seek compensation for all damages and injuries that may have occurred. If you obtain a lawyer to pursue litigation, you also have the right to seek lawsuit funding. Lawsuit funding is a non-recourse cash advance prior to settling your case meaning that you only pay back the money if you receive compensation for your claim. Litigation funding can be used to help pay for expenses directly related to the accident, such as medical expenses and funeral and burial expenses. It can also help pay monthly bills that may be piling up due to the lack of income.

Lawsuit funding is a plaintiff's leverage; it "buys" time until a fair settlement can be reached. If you are in need of a lawsuit cash advance, begin by applying online.

Faulty Guardrail Leads to Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The Nassau County Commission is being sued for the wrongful death of a 16-year-old girl as the result of an auto accident. The teen died after the vehicle in which she was a passenger hit a guardrail and slammed into an SUV. Two passengers in the SUV were seriously injured. They are also suing the County Commission, claiming that the accident left them with medical bills and the inability to work.

Local governments can be held liable for failing to build safe roads and keep them properly maintained. According to the lawsuit, the injured parties claim that the Commission was negligent because the guardrail was not properly installed and was below standards set forth by the Florida Department of Transportation. The accident occurred on May 20, 2010. On June 9, the County installed a "Narrow Bridge" sign and object markers at the site, but many say that will not prevent drivers from hitting the guardrail.

Dangerous road conditions most often stem from faulty design, construction, maintenance, or failure by the government to make road changes to adapt to new conditions. Many are the result of missing or defective guardrails. Guardrails must be properly constructed, meet any safety specifications, be installed properly, and serve as an adequate barrier between lanes and the sides of roads. They protect drivers from dangerous curves especially for elevated roads and bridges, or where obstacles such as trees or poles are near the road. Guardrails may not prevent the accident, but they will usually minimize the severity of injuries.

Serious injuries or death in an auto accident can leave the victim and his/her family with serious medical expenses, funeral and burial expenses, income loss, and other expenses. There is no reason why a victim should have to shoulder the burden of all this without holding the responsible parties liable. Holding a government entity accountable for a road defect also allows the problem to become publicly known so that hopefully changes will be made and lives are saved. But, dangerous road cases are often long and drawn out; what is a cash-strapped plaintiff to do?

Lawsuit Financial understands that auto accident lawsuits can be hard fought and take months, even years to settle. We also understand that plaintiffs may struggle financially waiting for their case to settle.
A Social Call of Death

Texting while driving has been illegal in Maine since September and Maine has a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol consumption for drivers under age 21, but that did not stop an 18-year-old on January 7, 2012.

Police said drinking and distracted driving are to blame for an auto accident in western Maine that killed two teenagers. The 18-year-old driver had been drinking alcohol and was texting with friends at a party at the time of the accident. Reports state that she had left the party with two friends to pick up beer and cigarettes. Before returning to the party, she picked up a 16-year-old girl who sneaked out of her house. As the driver approached the bottom of a hill, where the road curves left, she hit a patch of ice. The vehicle went airborne, crashed into trees, and landed in a ditch killing the 16-year-old and another passenger. Though seriously injured, the driver and a 22-year-old passenger left the scene. The driver returned to the house party while the passenger went to the home of a relative, both about a mile away from the accident. State Police are investigating several aspects of the accident including where the teens obtained the alcohol and the underage party.

Many people think texting and driving is not a big deal, but it has been proven time and time again how extremely dangerous and fatal it can be. Studies show that texting or talking on the phone while driving delays a driver's reactions as much as having a blood alcohol concentration of .08 percent, the legal limit. Driving while using a cell phone also reduces the amount of brain activity required for driving by 37 percent. Now image how dangerous this 18-year-old driver was behind the wheel on January 7. This fatal accident is a powerful message that driving requires all of your sense and your full attention. Don't be caught under the influence of your social life.

There are many unanswered questions in this fatal auto accident. It may take years to reach a resolution. The families of the two deceased teens will, most likely seek the advice of an experienced automobile accident attorney. After retaining attorneys and beginning their pursuit of the litigation, these families may be interested to know that a service commonly known as lawsuit funding can assist them, financially, while they await resolution of their case.
Fatal California Auto Accident in Vintage Truck Rollover

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 25-year old woman was traveling approximately 65 - 70 mph when she lost control and struck the median before her vehicle overturned. The impact of the collision ejected the woman from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her father was following behind her when the accident occurred; the two had just purchased the 1955 Chevrolet pickup truck the woman was driving. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Seat belts could quite possibly have saved this woman's life, but were not required under California law. Seat belts weren't introduced until the early 1960s and it wasn't until 1968 that the federal government made them mandatory. Although seat belts have been proven to be far more effective in preventing serious injuries and death in the event of an auto accident, there are no federal requirements mandating they be added to vehicles not equipped prior to 1968, although laws do vary by state.

Vehicles manufactured prior to the 1960 were not equipped with seat belts, nor were they mandated until 1968. However, vintage vehicles can be retrofitted to add seat belts and shoulder harnesses.

What is still unknown is what caused this fatal accident. The truck will be examined for mechanical problems. If the cause of the accident is determined to be due to a manufacturer defect, the auto manufacturer may be held accountable and the victim's family may wish to file a wrongful death claim to obtain compensation for funeral and burial expenses, loss of future earnings, loss of love, care and companionship, and other accident-related damages.

If you think you may have a products liability case, even if you are unsure, you should contact an experienced attorney. If you pursue a lawsuit, and in a financial position where you need cash immediately to pay bills, lawsuit funding may be an option. Litigation funding is a valuable service that offers a better solution than settling your case for less than it is worth.

A lawsuit cash advance can help a plaintiff pay monthly bills, medical expenses, funeral and burial expenses, and other bills allowing the plaintiff to concentrate on his lawsuit. Job status or credit ratings do not matter; at Lawsuit Financial all that matters is the quality of your case.
Fatal Auto Accident after Teen Attempts to Pass in a No Passing Zone

A serious or fatal auto accident can happen at any moment. No one plans for it to happen, but lives can be changed in an instant for the innocent victim and the negligent driver. A recent North Carolina auto accident is a perfect example.

A 16-year-old driver was on his way to school when he tried to pass another vehicle in a "no passing" zone. While attempting to move back into his lane, the teen lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line, and slammed head-on into another vehicle. The female driver of the other vehicle died at the scene; a passenger was seriously injured. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

Obviously, this accident could have been avoided if the teenager was adhering to traffic laws. "It's unfortunate but sometimes it takes a bad situation to open the minds of young teens in North Carolina," said Trooper Bryan Phillips. Lawsuit Financial encourages everyone to help our young drivers become conscientious and safe drivers.

It is always difficult to hear about the loss of a loved one due to an auto accident. If you lose a loved one due to the negligence of someone else, you may be able to recover damages for medical bills, loss wages, funeral and burial expenses, and pain and suffering. It is important to contact an attorney who specializes in these types of cases.

A wrongful death lawsuit can be very complex and sometimes result in stressful negotiations and lengthy trials. Insurance companies are represented by some of the most tenacious defense attorneys that are backed by deep pockets. This can result in dragging a case out for months or even years. With this happens, it may be difficult to pay the bills and meet other financial obligations.

Lawsuit funding can help the plaintiff hold out for full compensation for their lawsuit. Litigation funding is a valuable service that offers a better solution than settling your valuable personal injury lawsuit for less than it is worth. And, we take all the risk; if your case does not resolve in your favor, we will excuse the debt. That's right, if you lose the case, you keep our money without obligation to repay. This is called non-recourse lawsuit funding. Applying for lawsuit funding is quick and easy; if you are approved, you can have lawsuit cash in your hands within 24 hours.
Two Dead after Fiery Auto Accident Caused by Drunk Driver

A woman and her grandson were victims of a fatal auto accident caused by a drunk driver. The 73-year-old grandmother had just picked up her 16-year-old grandson for a dentist appointment when the driver of a Silverado pick-up truck rear-ended her Nissan Pathfinder. The Nissan and Silverado exploded into flames trapping the woman and her grandson inside. Both were pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the Nissan escaped unharmed.

According to witnesses, the driver of the Nissan was speeding and weaving in and out of heavy traffic and failed to notice in time that other vehicles had slowed for traffic. "He was oblivious to what he was doing until he smashed into another car," said a witness at the scene. It was later determined that the driver of the Nissan was coming from a holiday work party and driving under the influence of alcohol. He has been arrested and faces criminal DUI charges and vehicular manslaughter. He could also be held responsible for the losses incurred and damages caused.

A criminal case will be tried first, but this appears to be a very strong wrongful death case against a grossly negligent driver. The family has been torn apart; two people have lost their life because of a few of drinks and irresponsibility. Did anyone attempt to take the keys away from the drunk driver? Did anyone try to prevent him from leaving the party and getting behind the wheel?

The victims' family members should immediately seek counsel from an experienced auto accident attorney who can help them obtain fair and just compensation for their loss -funeral and burial costs, loss of care and companionship, and other accident-related damages. The civil case may take a long time to sort out; a settlement or trial could be months, if not years, away. In the meantime, the family has lost a loved one and must cope with their grief as well as the funeral and burial; they family wishes to bury their loved ones in Mexico. They may also experience serious financial difficulty with daily bills. What can they do?

The family may be able to receive financial relief with a "lawsuit loan", a cash advance against a pending settlement. With pre-settlement funding, a plaintiff can pay medical expenses, funeral expenses, or any financial obligations. Suffering injuries are the loss of a loved one is enough of a hardship; don't succumb to a financial hardship as well.

Lawsuit Financial can help relieve the financial pressure that causes litigants to settle cases too early for too little. A financially distressed plaintiff is not a positive influence on settlement negotiations. We will pay your bills and await repayment out of your case. Because lawsuit funding is a non-recourse cash advance, if you lose your case, we will excuse the obligation; you only pay us back if you win your case. Applying for litigation funding is easy by phone or online and approval can be obtained in 24 - 48 hours. Call or visit us online to apply; let Lawsuit Financial help with your financial obligations while waiting for a fair and equitable settlement.

An Elderly Woman Dies after her Second Auto Accident in Same Day

A 71-year-old New Jersey woman died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident; her second auto accident that day. The first accident occurred about a quarter mile away when she struck a vehicle from behind that had slowed in traffic. No one was injured in that accident.

The woman's husband picked her up from the first accident and the couple was heading home when a van, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, hit their pick-up truck head-on. The driver of the van attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended in less than an hour. He has been charged with driving under the influence, being an unlicensed driver, reckless driving, death by auto, and leaving the scene of an accident.

In cases like this, lawsuits are, typically, the way to compensate the victims and punish the perpetrator. Most likely, the family of the couple will contact a personal injury attorney to discuss their rights. Cases like this have a tendency to take a long time to resolve and the family may be faced with significant medical bills and funeral expenses. Thus, the family may wish to investigate the possibility of obtaining a lawsuit cash advance from an experienced provider of lawsuit funding services.

Lawsuit funding is immediate financial assistance available to families that find themselves in this type of situation, where a loved one has been seriously injured, killed or disabled by the negligence or bad acts of another, who are suing the guilty party, and who find themselves behind on their bills and expenses. While waiting for their attorneys to obtain justice, litigation funding would allow them to pay their medical bills, funeral expenses, and other important expenses.

Legal finance services can be a life preserver in desperate financial times. Legal funding is easy to apply for either online or by phone and is contingent on the outcome of your case; repayment is excused if you lose. If a plaintiff qualifies for pre-settlement funding, cash can often be place in an applicant's hands in as little as 24 hours. Lawsuit funding can give you the financial support needed as you and your attorney seek the compensation you deserve.

Wrongful Death Lawsuit in Death of Construction Worker

Last October, a 36-year-old construction worker fell more than 50 feet to his death at a Chelsea Piers construction site in Stamford, CT. The man was installing sheeting on the roof when a strong gust of wind knocked him off balance; he fell into the structure onto a concrete slab floor. He was not wearing a harness or straps.

His family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the victim's employer, the work site general contractors, and the property owners. The lawsuit accuses the contracting company and the general contractor of failing to provide a safe working environment when it directed a subcontractor to install a roof at least 40 feet above the ground despite dangerous weather conditions and a lack of safety equipment. The suit also alleges that the contractor failed to ensure that the subcontractor was competent and qualified to perform the installation.

The victim's brothers, who were also working at the construction site at the time of the accident, are seeking compensation for emotional distress caused by seeing their brother in "extreme pain" and "significantly deformed" in the moments before his death. The victim's wife is seeking compensation for lost earnings and loss of companionship.

The property will be the new home of NBC Sports, which announced a 10-year, $20 million deal to house operations at the site. Obviously, the property owner and contractor will profit tenfold on this project, but were they so focused on profits that they neglected safety? Only a jury can make that decision.

This unfortunate family has lost its principal means of support and may need some financial help to get through the long litigation process. They may want to consider a service known as lawsuit funding. Lawsuit funding can assist the family with their ordinary bills and expenses, as well as funeral expenses.

Litigation funding is based solely on the merits of the lawsuit; credit rating or job status does not matter. If you lose your case, the lawsuit cash advance is excused; you do not have to pay it back. With Lawsuit Financial, the application process is simple by phone or via our website.
Speed and Drugs Appear to be the Cause in Fatal Rollover Accident

A passenger died as a result of the single-vehicle auto accident on US 12 in Montana. A 31-year-old woman was in the right front passenger seat when the driver went off the road and a flipped the vehicle before it came to rest back on its wheels. The driver and both passengers were ejected from the vehicle; they were not wearing seat belts. The woman died at the hospital from severe head and torso injuries; the driver and another passenger were treated at an area hospital.

The accident is still under investigation; speed was definitely a factor and "mood-altering substances" may have also played a part. The toxicology results should be back within a six weeks.

The grief that follows the loss of a loved one can be overwhelming. Even before the grief has subsided, families often find themselves faced with financial hardship as they try to pay the cost of a funeral and try to adjust to life without a loved one. How does a family survive, financially, while awaiting case resolution?

If you have been seriously injured or a loved one has been killed in an auto accident, only an experienced attorney can tell you whether you have a right to compensation. While coping with your grief, you may be burdened by the expenses associated with your loved one's death. There is immediate financial assistance available to families that find themselves in this type of situation.

Use auto accident lawsuit funding to ease your financial burden and give your attorney the time needed to obtain full value in your case. A lawsuit cash advance is available by phone or online, and is contingent on the outcome of your case. Repayment is excused if you lose.
Automobile accidents and deaths caused by drunk and drugged drivers are preventable accidents. It is important that car accidents caused by drugged driving -- due to not only illegal substances but prescription and non-prescription over-the-counter medications -- are stopped and that the dangers of this kind of DUI are taken seriously. We can only hope that increased awareness of the consequences of DUIs will lead to fewer car accidents, making the roads a safer place for everyone. It makes sense to have this issue of more public concern especially as the holidays are approaching.

"Black Ice" Causes Series of Accidents on Utah Highway

As the driver of a Chrysler Sebring moved to the left lane of an icy Utah highway to avoid being struck by a pick-up truck he hit a semi-trailer, lost control, and slid back across the interstate. The driver of the Sebring and his parents got out of the vehicle attempting to make their way back across the freeway when his mother slipped and fell on the ice. After helping her up and getting his mom and dad to safety, the driver attempted to run back to his vehicle when he was struck by a vehicle. The 26-year-old died instantly; his parents suffered minor injuries. The series of accidents remains under investigation, but an icy roadway, and speed appeared to play a factor.

It is easy to forget about wintry driving conditions especially early in the season, but drivers need to be ready. Whether it's a dusting of snow or a patch if ice, winter roads can be very dangerous. Ice on roadways never makes for safe driving especially "black ice".

Thousands of accidents are caused every year by drivers who lose traction on ice. Tires can easily lose traction therefore icy conditions usually require us to drive at less than posted speeds. Slow down and give yourself time to stop. By driving carefully, you can substantially reduce the risk of losing control of your vehicle. This is also a good time to remind drivers to check the condition of all tires, antifreeze levels, and put a survival kit in all vehicles in case of an emergency.

Automobile accidents increase during bad weather conditions because motorists (and pedestrians) sometimes don't take the necessary precautions. When roadways are icy, drivers are at a greater risk of losing control of their vehicle. If a motorist decides to drive in bad weather conditions they are legally responsible to take necessary precautions. Were these drivers speeding? Were they distracted?

If a driver is involved in an accident due to the negligence of another, they have the legal right to file suit against the other party. Compensation can include medical expenses, funeral expenses, lose of wages, pain and suffering, and out of pocket expenses. During the all too often litigation process, you may choose to seek lawsuit funding, a non-recourse cash advance against your claim. Non-recourse means if you lose your lawsuit you don't repay the "lawsuit loan" and the advance is yours to keep. Pre-settlement funding is a great option for a family wondering how they will make ends meet financially without a breadwinner or to simply pay additional expenses associated with the accident. Pre-settlement funding helps victims deal with unexpected bills and then take care of other pressing financial business, like the mortgage and car payments.

A lawsuit cash advance is the means to wait for a just and equitable settlement. If approved for a lawsuit cash advance, funds can be available within 24-48 hours, and a check wired to your account. A consultation and the application process are free; call us today!

Street Racing may be Cause of Serious Auto Accident

A Dodge Viper spun out of control on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA and collided head-on with a Nissan Pathfinder. The SUV carrying a woman and her two children overturned after being hit by the sports car. The woman suffered a broken leg; her two children were not seriously injured. The driver of the Viper was pulled to safety before the vehicle burst into flames. Although the exact cause of the accident is unknown, authorities believe it was caused by a drag race involving the Dodge Viper and another vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing the Viper traveling at a high rate of speed before accident occurred.

Drag racing is never a smart idea. Fortunately, this head-on auto accident was not more serious, or even fatal. While the driver of the Viper will most likely face criminal charges, he is also guilty of careless and negligent driving.

The driver of the SUV may wish to consult an experienced auto accident about filing a lawsuit for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages associated with this accident. If she is cash-strapped and needs to pay unexpected medical bills along with normal monthly obligations, the woman may want to consult a litigation funding specialist.

Lawsuit Financial provides "lawsuit loans" for auto accident victims.
It is easy to apply for pre-settlement funding online or over the phone. If a plaintiff qualifies, the lawsuit cash advance can be wired into your account within 24 to 48 hours.
Personal Injury Claim or Lawsuit?

Thousands of people suffer from a personal injury each year, and while you might want to imagine that it could never happen to you or someone you love, it can. The most common types of personal injury claims  a means for an injured person to collect damages if he/she is injured by the actions or negligence or another person or entity  are auto accidents, slip and falls, and defective products. When this is the case, you may be eligible to receive financial compensation in the form of a settlement.

Depending on the type and the severity of the injury, medical expenses can reach thousands of dollars or more, pain and suffering can last years, and some injuries can put a victim out of work for life. Although you may have insurance to cover some of your medical expenses, it may not be enough. Personal injury claims are designed to help victims seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, long or short term disabilities, or wrongful death, but may also seek redress for emotional or psychological injuries. Even if the injuries incurred are minor and temporary, filing a personal injury claim may award substantial restitution, and in some cases, the victim may seek punitive damages.

It is in your best interest to find an experienced attorney knowledgeable in your type of injury and who has can help determine whether or not you should pursue your personal injury claim or lawsuit, and if so, your case value including medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Whether you file a claim or lawsuit, you will need to provide proof of medical expenses, missed days of work, medical records, police reports and anything else that proves the severity of your injuries. The insurance company uses this information to process a claim amount. A claim is between both involved parties and their insurance company who will disperse the amount of money they feel your injury is worth. If, however, you feel your injuries are worth more than the settlement offer, you may choose to file a personal injury lawsuit.

Filing a personal injury lawsuit is not about greed, but justice and receiving fair compensation to help a victim cover medical, funeral expenses, long term care, and/or loss of wages; it can also help prevent such negligence from being repeated. Unfortunately, many times these lawsuits will take months, even years to resolve. You may be struggling financially to pay the bills, but your attorney advises against settling too soon and for too little. Lawsuit Financial knows about financial pressures from insurance companies and deep pocket defendants who have all the time and money in the world. Insurance companies and their attorneys are not injured, they are not missing work. Settlement or not, they can feed their families and take care of life's necessities. Injury victims are often forced, by financial circumstances, to consider settlements too early and for too little.

Lawsuit Financial provides lawsuit funding to take care of life's necessities (mortgage, rent, food, utilities, gas, car payments, medical expenses, transportation, etc) to reduce your financial pressure to settle too early and for too little. We try to buy you precious time to develop your case, your damages, and allow your attorney the time he needs to get the job done. If the case must go to trial to get you what you deserve, you need to have the financial staying power to pursue the case to trial. Lawsuit Financial can help you with that.

Intersection Accident Results in Fiery Accident

At least two people were killed and three seriously injured in a fiery 2-vehicle auto accident in Seattle. The accident closed the road for over 5 hours while investigators gathered evidence.

According to witnesses, a Hyundai Elantra was stopped at an intersection when the driver of a Ford Explorer slammed into it from behind. The force of the impact sent both vehicles careening through the intersection stopping nearly 200 feet down the road. As the Hyundai was being pushed down the road, it caught fire trapping a man and woman inside. They died at the scene. The driver of the Explorer suffered life-threatening injuries; his daughter and a friend were treated at the hospital.

Obviously speed was a factor, but it was not immediately known how the fast the Explorer was traveling when the accident occurred. Was the driver distracted? Did the brakes fail? Was he under the influence?

Erratic Driving Causes Son's Death

Several people were injured and a teenager was killed in a serious auto accident on Saturday. Police said the mother of a black minivan crossed the center line and slammed into a white minivan. The driver of the black van also sideswiped another vehicle. Five children, ages 2 - 12 were taken to area hospitals along with three adults.
A 16-year-old boy in the black minivan was killed; a three-year-old is in critical condition. Witnesses said the driver of the black minivan was driving erratically. She will be charged when she's released from the hospital.

What caused the woman to cross the center line is still unknown. Was she texting? Talking on the phone? Eating? Arguing with her son? Drug and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor. Whatever the reason, it will not bring her son back.

The fatal accident has two lessons; distracted driving can have serious consequences and the importance lessons by example. Parents are in a unique position to show their children proper driving skills and to teach proper driving choices. Driver distractions are not one of them. It is important to set examples for our young drivers and teach them some basic safety tips while behind the wheel.

1.	Don't text while driving.
2.	Don't drink and drive.
3.	Don't eat while driving.
4.	Don't apply makeup while driving.
5.	Don't drive while drowsy or fatigued.
6.	Do follow the speed limit.
7.	Do use your turn signals.
8.	Do follow road signs.
9.	Do give your full attention to the road and your surroundings.

Suffering serious injuries or losing a loved one is enormously expensive and compensation is necessary and appropriate. The family of the three-year-old should contact a personal injury attorney to understand their rights. If they pursue litigation, the long waiting process might leave the family strapped for cash due to the medical expenses associated with the child's injuries. Family members of the deceased 16-year-old may also seek compensation for their loss.

Insurance companies, even in tragic situations such as this, are often willing to play waiting games with people's lives. They may attempt to delay the proceedings for as long as possible. They may attempt to make the plaintiff desperate to settle, just to pay medical bills and funeral expenses. If after consulting an attorney, the victims decide to pursue a lawsuit, they might also wish to consider a lawsuit cash advance to help pay the mounting bills until a lawsuit settlement is reached.

Pre-settlement funding is an advance against a settlement that, hopefully, permits victims wait out the long, legal process and achieve appropriate justice. It costs nothing to apply and if approved, funding can be available within 24 - 48 hours.
Speeding Played a Significant Role in Fatal Auto Accident Involving Four Teens

Four Colorado teens were in a fatal auto accident around 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Speeding was definitely a factor; alcohol may have played a role. A witness said a beer case was lying on the ground next to the vehicle and you could smell beer inside the car. Friends said the teens were at a party and there was drinking.

An 18-year-old teenager was driving an SUV at approximately 80 mph when he failed to make a curve, hit a pole, and went airborne for 40 feet before hitting a tree. The force of the impact knocked the big tree over. The driver and a 17-year-old female passenger died at the scene; two backseat passengers were trapped in the vehicle for nearly two hours. Both teens are in serious condition at the hospital; one is currently paralyzed and may lose a leg.

Accident investigators said there was no evidence that the driver attempted to apply the brakes before the accident. One of the surviving teens said that he and the other backseat passenger told the driver he was going too fast and to please slow down or let them out. He told family members that the driver said, "No, we're going to have some fun."

An investigation is ongoing to determine if alcohol played a role. In the meantime, the lives of four families have been changed forever; two are planning funerals while two others will be faced with extensive medical bills, not to mention possible criminal charges for the young driver.

In cases like this, lawsuits are, typically, the way to compensate the victims and punish the perpetrator. Four families are struggling emotionally and physically. They may be faced with substantial present and future financial obligations - funeral expenses, significant medical bills, and possibly life-long care. Since cases like this have a tendency to take a long time to resolve, additional expenses can take a substantial financial toll on a family making it difficult to make ends meet. Families of the innocent victims may wish to investigate the possibility of obtaining lawsuit cash advance (sometimes known as a "lawsuit loan") from an experienced litigation funding company. All too often, plaintiffs will look to settle their case too soon and for too little because they are financially strapped.

At Lawsuit Financial, we provide the money you need and time your attorney needs to make the legal system work for you. You no longer have to settle your case for less than it is worth to avoid the financial nightmare. We will make the impossible...possible. Call Lawsuit Financial or visit us online to learn how we can help you achieve the compensation you deserve.

First Lawsuit Filed in Reno National Championship Air Race Fatality

A vintage plane crashed into the tarmac at the Reno National Championship Air Races, killing 11 and injuring about 70 on September 16, 2011. The accident occurred when the pilot of the Galloping Ghost, a "souped-up" World War II-era P-51 Mustang lost control before taking a nose dive into the box-seat section where fans were watching the race.

A Texas physician who lost her husband in the accident has filed the first lawsuit. The wrongful death suit claims the Reno Air Racing Association's negligence was "motivated out of a drive for profit and a disregard for safety." Attorneys for the family said the crash was the "result of a reckless drive for speed by a risk-taking pilot and crew." The lawsuit contends that promoters of the event did not take adequate precautions to protect the spectators. It also alleges that the plane has a history of fatal crashes. The fatal flight was captured in photos and on video by hundreds of spectators; the NTSB said investigators found a tail part known as an elevator trim tab missing as the plane went out of control.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) began an immediate investigation into the crash, but its final report may not be complete until next year. Named in the suit is the Reno Air Racing Association, the pilot, who was killed in the crash, his racing team, Leeward Air Ranch, a mechanic, and the owner of the Galloping Ghost. The family is seeking $25 million.

At Lawsuit Financial, we understand that when these types of accidents occur the results are almost always devastating. While we can't bring back a love one or help heal families affected by such accidents, we can help you secure lawsuit cash advances to make things a little easier.
Fatal Accident Resulting from Drugs and Speed

A 28-year-old Utah man has been charged with automobile homicide stemming from a fatal June auto accident that killed his 23-year-old passenger. A reconstruction of the accident proved that he was driving at between 95 - 110 mph when he lost control of the vehicle, hit a utility pole, careered through a fence and across a lawn, before hitting a parked truck. The toxicology report showed signs of marijuana use. The female passenger was rushed to the hospital where she died later that evening.

Drugged driving is clearly an issue. When it comes to drugs, there is not comparable metric for impairment. Since no breathalyzer test can be performed, an officer must determine if there are any outward signs of drug impairment, such as physical appearance, erratic driving, or incriminating conduct. Once a driver is suspected of drugged driving, a blood or urine test can be administered in order to gain proof of driving under the influence.

Last year, the NHTSA released a report that mixing drugs and driving is a serious concern and is one of the top causes of auto accidents; one in five drivers killed in an auto accident tested positive for drugs. Some states hope this report can help build a case for blood draws since that would reveal the amount of drugs in a person's system.

Automobile accidents caused by drugged drivers -- due to not only illegal substances but prescription and non-prescription over-the-counter medications -- are preventable. We can only hope that increased awareness of the consequences of DUIs will lead to fewer auto accidents, making the roads a safer place for everyone.

If you or a loved one has been in an auto accident involving drugged driving it is important to talk to an experienced attorney to determine your rights and options. But, what if the litigation process takes months, even years and the plaintiff it struggling financially to pay the medical bills, funeral expenses, or has lost income of the sole breadwinner?

Most victims do not realize they can apply for a cash advance known as lawsuit funding. Although sometimes called a "lawsuit loan", it is not a loan because the money does not have to be paid back unless the case is won or settled. There are no upfront fees, no monthly payments, and no need for employment of a credit check.

Lawsuit Financial is able to provide a timely (within 24 to 48 hours of approval) cash advance to allow litigation plaintiffs to meet their financial obligations while awaiting case resolution. We approve or deny pre-settlement funding based upon the strengths and weaknesses of your case; good/bad credit and employment/ unemployment do not matter. There is no risk; repayment is conditioned upon the outcome of the case. If you lose the case; you keep the money, free of charge. If approved, funding is available within 24-48 hours. Lawsuit pre-settlement funding programs provide immediate cash to give a plaintiff and their attorney time to negotiate a fair settlement!

North Carolina Wrongful Death Auto Accident Lawsuit Filed Against Four Bars

Last October, an intoxicated 26-year-old woman drove the wrong way on Interstate 240 in Asheville, NC and collided head-on into another vehicle. The drunk driver suffered serious injuries, but the 29-year-old driver of the other vehicle died at the scene. The drunk driver was charged with impaired and reckless driving to endanger; her blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was .262%, more than three times the .08% legal limit.

A year later, the deceased woman's estate filed a lawsuit against four Asheville bars alleging that each establishment knowingly served alcohol to an intoxicated woman. North Carolina law states that it is illegal for bars with Alcoholic Beverage Control permits to knowingly give or sell alcohol to anyone who is 'intoxicated." The statute also states that if a third party is injured or killed by a drunk driver and an establishment sold alcohol to the already intoxicated persons, the establishment can be held liable. The businesses deny that they were aware the woman was intoxicated when she was served.

It could take years for this lawsuit to reach a settlement. While coping with their grief, the family may be burdened by the expenses associated with her death. There is immediate financial assistance available to families that find themselves in this type of situation.

Fatal Accident Results in Two Wrongful Death Lawsuits

Two families have filed lawsuits over a fatal auto accident in which the driver of a tractor trailer slammed into the driver of a Honda Accord waiting to turn left into her driveway. The Accord and the semi then crashed into a Chrysler Sebring. The drive of the Accord and a four-year-old passenger in the Sebring were killed.

The parents of the woman driving the Honda filed a wrongful death lawsuit in against the truck driver and his employer. Six months later, a second suit was filed by the woman's children against the Transportation Agency for Monterey County for allegedly maintaining an unsafe roadway and failing to install rails to prevent cross-over accidents or widening the road, at least enough to add a left-turn lane. According to the lawsuit, several vehicles had driven around the Honda on the shoulder, but although seated much higher that most vehicles, the driver of the tractor trailer claims he did not see the woman.

Local residents said that safety on this section of highway has been a matter of concern for years. They feel the road is unsafe for the amount of traffic, and that the shoulder is too narrow for cars and trucks to safely maneuver around a stopped vehicle. Projects to widen the road have been proposed, but not funded.

These lawsuits may take a long time to resolve. Was the accident the cause of driver negligence, poor road design, or a combination? Was the driver distracted, driving in excess of the speed limit, or not paying attention to the drivers in front and around him?

Dangerous roadway lawsuit cases are difficult and expensive. They require an extensive investigation of the roadway and its history. This is especially critical when the roadway has been the site of previous accidents. Issues that may be addressed are whether the government failed to fulfill its obligations of making sure a dangerous road is somewhat forgiving of driver error. Successful cases not only benefit the client, they directly force changes in dangerous road conditions that can save lives.
